Match of the Week: Hawkeye def. NIACC 3-1

Hawkeye overcame the first set of the game to come back and win one of the first conference matches of the year. 

It was a contested first set between NIACC and Hawkeye, with the Trojans prevailing 25-22 to take the early 1-0 lead. The Redtails fought back and fully controlled the second set to win 25-15 and bring the match square at one a piece. Set three went the way of Hawkeye as they pulled away with the 25-19 win. In the fourth set of the match, the Redtails finished the job to capture the win. The set ended 25-18, and the Redtails got the first conference win of the year. 

Leading the way for Hawkeye were Alexis Even and Shannon Moorman with 12 kills each. Kinzie Gardner was a weapon during the game for Hawkeye with 33 assists and 15 digs. Alexie Hogan led the team in digs with 23, while Emersyn Secora also provided 10 digs with 11 kills for the double-double. 

The next conference opponent for the Redtails will be at home against No. 7 Kirkwood on September 9 at 6:00 PM. NIACC will be back in action in the conference on September 3 as they host Western Iowa Tech at 7:00 PM.
